Uncanny Avengers #23

Holy fuck they took away her control. I s2g this better only last like 3 issues.

Rogue is my favorite X-Man.

I’m not reading Uncanny Avengers.

I knew this was coming.

I don’t care how it’s handled in Uncanny Avengers; I am glad that Rogue has actual super powers again.

This is a good thing.

Change in comics is temporary. Rogue mastering her powers felt like a big moment, and it was a highlight of the character. Her losing that mastery does not negate or lessen that story in one bit; comics are cyclical and they are never ending. Changes made will be undone. Rogue will master her powers again at some point in the future, and then she’ll lose that. She’ll die again, and she’ll come back.

Seriously, we can’t get upset when books are canceled and also complain that we aren’t getting our monthly fix of all-new super hero adventures with our favorite characters, and then get upset when comics have to recycle plot lines or go down similar paths with a different guides. Comics don’t end

As for Rogue, Rogue needs to have super strength and flight. That’s something I believe with every fiber of my fandom. Rogue needs to be a power house. And she doesn’t need to just be a powerhouse when there’s someone else nearby, and she doesn’t need to just be a powerhouse temporarily. The Marvel Universe needs a super strong and sassy woman with the power of flight. Those powers match her personality; just watch the 90s cartoon! To me, that is Rogue—a Rogue that doesn’t mope around because of her powers. It’s a Rogue that is confident and has the powers to back it up.

I personally cannot stand any interpretation of Rogue that dabbles in goth or the hood. I don’t like a Rogue that hides behind her front-swept bangs or the privacy of a hood. I like a Rogue in a bomber jacket, that kisses the window of Air Force One, that sets her shopping bags down to punch a Sentinel in the face.

Rogue is a muscle character—one unlike any other in the Marvel Universe.

This is a good thing. Maybe it’s not being handled well right now. I kinda roll my eyes at the notion of Rogue needing the Scarlet Witch by her side to cope with this. But does this mean that we might get to see get into a knock down drag out fight with the heaviest hitters of the MU? If it does, then yes, this is a good thing.

My commentary, above.

Super strength and flight > any other version of Rogue.

Powerhouse Rogue is the only version of Rogue that’s tolerable to me.
